Hyderabad: Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been replaced by England opener Jason Roy, IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad said on Wednesday.
Marsh missed the IPL 2021 season as he could not stay in the Bio Bubble for long. Roy has played only 8 matches in his IPL career.
Roy, who made his league debut with the Gujarat Lions in 2017, will next represent the Delhi Daredevils. Roy, who is sidelined for the 2020 season for personal reasons, showed no interest in the franchise at auction in February this year. Roy scored 144 runs in the recent five-match T20I series against India.
The IPL said in a statement that Mitchell Marsh had been sidelined for the rest of the season due to personal reasons and was replaced by England batsman Jason Roy.
